This dish achieves a sweet and spicy flavor. They are spicy because of the hot sauce and sweet because of the cherry preserves. We used the chicken wings as they were, but you could also cut through the wing joints and discard the wing tips if desired.

Ingredients

  • 12 chicken wings
  • 3 Tbsp canola oil, divided
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup cherry preserves
  • 2 Tbsp Louisiana-style hot sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tsp salt, divided
  • 1 tsp ground pepper, divided

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Then, add in the garlic and cook and stir for 1 minute. Stir in ketchup, vinegar, cherry preserves, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon pepper. Cook and stir until heated through.
  2. Brush the wings with remaining oil and sprinkle with remaining salt and pepper.
  3. Place the wings on the mesh rack in the Air Fryer Oven and air fry them at 350°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through. Brush with glaze during the last 5 minutes of air frying.
  4. Serve with remaining glaze.
